VoxSub — Privacy Policy

VoxSub is a Chrome extension that produces live subtitles, translation, and optional AI voice‑over (dubbing) for audio playing in a browser tab, or for your own microphone in interpreter mode. This policy explains what data VoxSub handles and how.
What we process
- Tab audio — only for the tab you explicitly start capturing. It is streamed for real‑time speech‑to‑text and translation.
- Microphone audio — only if you turn on interpreter (two‑way) mode, and only while capturing is active.
- Transcripts & translations — the text produced from that audio.
- An anonymous device identifier — a random string generated on your device, used to enforce free/paid usage limits (managed mode only).
How audio is handled
- Audio is processed transiently in real time to generate text and (if enabled) dubbing voice. VoxSub does not store your audio recordings on its servers.
- Audio is relayed through the VoxSub server to third‑party AI service providers for speech‑to‑text, translation, and text‑to‑speech. These providers process the audio/text solely to return the result. You never enter or manage any provider keys.
What is stored, and where
- On your device (browser local storage): your settings, session transcripts you choose to keep, and the anonymous device id. These never leave your browser except to call the VoxSub server.
- On the VoxSub server: the anonymous device id and aggregate usage minutes, kept to apply quotas and, for paid plans, billing. If you connect Notion, an access token issued by Notion is stored for your device so "Save to Notion" can work. No audio and no transcript content is stored.
- Notion: connecting is a one‑time authorization you perform on Notion's own site — you never paste a token. When you use "Save to Notion", the selected transcript is sent to Notion through the VoxSub server, at your request only. You can disconnect at any time.
Permissions we request
tabCapture / activeTab — to capture audio from the tab you choose.- Microphone — only for interpreter mode, requested with your consent.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not use your audio or transcripts for advertising or to train our own models.
- We do not track your browsing history.
Your choices
- Capturing only runs when you start it, and stops when you stop it or close the tab.
- You can delete local transcripts from the panel at any time.
- Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data.

VoxSub là tiện ích Chrome tạo phụ đề trực tiếp, dịch và (tuỳ chọn) lồng tiếng AI cho âm thanh đang phát trong một tab trình duyệt, hoặc cho micro của bạn ở chế độ phiên dịch. Chính sách này giải thích VoxSub xử lý dữ liệu gì và như thế nào.
Dữ liệu chúng tôi xử lý
- Âm thanh của tab — chỉ với tab bạn chủ động bắt đầu ghi. Được truyền để nhận dạng giọng nói và dịch theo thời gian thực.
- Âm thanh micro — chỉ khi bạn bật chế độ phiên dịch 2 chiều, và chỉ trong lúc đang ghi.
- Bản chép lời & bản dịch — văn bản tạo ra từ âm thanh đó.
- Mã thiết bị ẩn danh — chuỗi ngẫu nhiên tạo trên máy bạn, dùng để áp hạn mức miễn phí/trả phí (chỉ chế độ managed).
Cách xử lý âm thanh
- Âm thanh được xử lý tức thời theo thời gian thực để tạo văn bản và (nếu bật) giọng lồng tiếng. VoxSub không lưu bản ghi âm trên máy chủ.
- Âm thanh được chuyển tiếp qua máy chủ VoxSub tới các nhà cung cấp dịch vụ AI bên thứ ba để nhận dạng giọng nói, dịch và tổng hợp giọng nói. Các nhà cung cấp chỉ xử lý để trả kết quả. Bạn không phải nhập hay quản lý bất kỳ khoá nhà cung cấp nào.
Lưu gì, lưu ở đâu
- Trên máy bạn (bộ nhớ cục bộ trình duyệt): cài đặt, bản chép lời bạn chọn giữ, và mã thiết bị ẩn danh. Chúng không rời trình duyệt trừ khi gọi máy chủ VoxSub.
- Trên máy chủ VoxSub: mã thiết bị ẩn danh và tổng số phút sử dụng, để áp hạn mức và tính phí (gói trả phí). Nếu bạn kết nối Notion, một token truy cập do Notion cấp được lưu cho thiết bị của bạn để "Lưu vào Notion" hoạt động. Không lưu âm thanh và không lưu nội dung bản chép lời.
- Notion: việc kết nối là uỷ quyền một lần bạn thực hiện ngay trên trang của Notion — bạn không phải dán token nào. Khi bạn dùng "Lưu vào Notion", bản chép lời được gửi tới Notion qua máy chủ VoxSub, chỉ khi bạn yêu cầu. Bạn có thể ngắt kết nối bất cứ lúc nào.

Chúng tôi KHÔNG làm
- Không bán hay cho thuê dữ liệu của bạn.
- Không dùng âm thanh/bản chép lời để quảng cáo hay huấn luyện mô hình của chúng tôi.
- Không theo dõi lịch sử duyệt web của bạn.
Lựa chọn của bạn
- Việc ghi chỉ chạy khi bạn bắt đầu và dừng khi bạn dừng hoặc đóng tab.
- Bạn có thể xoá bản chép lời cục bộ bất cứ lúc nào trong bảng điều khiển.
- Gỡ tiện ích sẽ xoá toàn bộ dữ liệu lưu cục bộ.
